Rocky Peak is going back to the area close to where we baptized 214 people last year. The local church leaders let us know the nearby villages are now hungry for the gospel and for churches to be planted. Our Tanzania partners will send a pastor to each of these new villages to disciple and grow the people we gather. We hope, pray, and expect God to provide another great harvest. The trip is now full, but you can email Brian Morehead at bmorehead@rockypeak.org for more information.
Trip Update # 1:
We have arrived in the church planting area after 2 days of travel and got to work right away. We have met our translators, church planting pastors and the rest of the team. After a moving time of worshiping in Swahili and English, each of the 4 church planting teams met and both bonded and discussed strategies. We start in the villages in the morning. Pray for us. The teams are ready and the wind is at our back. Pray for boldness and discernment to the glory of God.
In His hands,
Brian Morehead
Trip Update # 2:
Greetings from Magu, Friends and Family!
Today was the day! After a long flight and great sleep, we are finally here, spreading the Gospel of Christ to the people of Tanzania! And was today a day. After a morning worship session that could only be described as a “cacophonous joy,” filled with both American and Tanzanian voices united in our worship of Christ, the mood settled with the silence, resting on a tension of anxious excitement. As our teams gathered into their vehicles, ready to set out for their mission points, the mix of emotions flitting between the team members was palpable: nervousness at the prospect of meeting new people in a foreign land. Excitement for being on mission for God. Doubt in our abilities. Hope that the Lord would be with us as we do our best to serve the people of Tanzania. I know I was nervously hopeful, fearful that I would be found wanting, but praying that the Lord would use me and our team to glorify Him.
And, as per usual, the Lord showed up in spectacular ways that gave proof for our hope! The people here are hungry for God! Not only has every team encountered people eager to listen to us and the Truth, but some of our teams were even casting out demons or meeting with villagers to give counsel on deeply personal issues.
Above all what stood out was God’s supernatural presence in those moments. Every interaction, every conversation, felt ordained. Our teams were equipped with the right people, for the right village, to address specific issues for which our teams were uniquely equipped. God is here and He is working a wonderful harvest!
Thank you so much for all of your prayers. They are assuredly at work on this trip and are so very appreciated! Please continue to pray for the safety and success of our teams, the relationships being formed, the hearts being softened, and the churches being built! You are all instrumental in the success of this trip! A thousand blessings on all of you!
In His Service,
Brandon
Trip Update # 3:
Hello to our beloved friends and family,
This was our second day going out to the villages, and what a blessing it is to be a part of what God is doing here in Magu. Our Tanzanian partners have been preparing the grounds of our 4 mission points prior to our arrival, and in collaboration with them, the Rocky Peak team is going out to the fields and ministering to the people within the villages. In preparation to help our Tanzanian pastors plant churches in 4 different villages, we are allowing Holy Spirit to lead our steps and encounters as we share the gospel message and the love of God.
Our team has been assigned to the Ikulicha village and in English translation, that means “to corrupt”. Upon learning this, we prepared our hearts to fight against demonic strongholds. As followers of Christ, we are given authority and power to fight these battles with the leading of Holy Spirit. And wow, God is surely moving in mighty ways!
We are witnessing demons being casted out, people being healed and set free from generational sins, and many accepting Jesus into their lives. The work of the Lord is just starting, and we know Holy Spirit has so much more in stored for the people of Misungwi, Nyamiselya, Mahaza, and Ikulicha. Please pray for the 4 mission points/villages, a protection from the enemies tactics, and perseverance & strength because we have 3 more days to share the gospel before our Sunday service & baptism.
More than 200 people have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and 125 people have committed to be baptized thus far…Praise the Lord!!!! We are praying for more baptisms, more transformed lives, and more church plants in Jesus name! Thank you all for your continued prayers and support. The fruits of your unceasing prayer is evident, and we are seeing the move of God in this beautiful country of Tanzania 🇹🇿.
With love,
Sarah Earnhardt

Trip Update # 4:
What an incredible week it has been! In the best way, it feels as if we’ve been in the field for weeks ministering to the people in our villages. We’ve seen God move in powerful ways, beyond anything we could imagine. Over the four villages, hundreds of people confessed faith in Christ as Lord and savior. Well over a dozen people were set free from demonic torment, and many others were healed from pain and sickness.
This morning, each village held a church service. After those services, all of the new believers joined us in our vans and buses (packed in like sardines😅) to drive to Lake Victoria for baptism. I’m excited to report that 276 people were baptized today! This could only be done by the hand of God! It’s hard to believe that less than six days ago, these new believers were once strangers. Yet, as I stood on the shore of Lake Victoria today watching them get baptized, I felt as if I was celebrating family!
After the baptisms were finished we all piled back into the vans and buses, including the villagers, and drove to the main church in Magu. We celebrated by sharing a meal, worshipping the Lord and praising Him for all the good He has done this week!
Lastly, you may remember that in an earlier update, Sarah shared that the name _Ikulicha_, means“to corrupt.” Well, today the pastor of this new church declared, they will now call the village _Ing’alisha_, which means “to shine like a light!” This is a perfect declaration of what the Lord has done in this village as well as the other three! He has brought these people out of the kingdom of darkness and into the kingdom of light!
Thank you friends and family for your tremendous support and for what you may have sacrificed to allow us to go and fulfill this call and mission. Please celebrate with us as we praise and worship King Jesus for all He has done! We might be tired from the work but our hearts are so full of joy!!!
Love and blessings,
Tricia
